Outdoor boundary conditions

Check outdoor GPS reception and plan supervised boundary training.

How it works

Dog owner using the PawTronic collar outdoors
4 alert choices

A clear cue at the boundary

Draw your boundary in our free app and save it to the collar. When your dog crosses that boundary, the selected alert starts. It stops when your dog returns inside. Help your dog learn the cues with supervised practice.

  • Sound: A clear audible boundary cue.
  • Vibration: A vibration-only boundary cue.
  • Sound + vibration: Two cues used together.
  • Sound + vibration + static correction: The full selectable alert mode.

Understanding GPS Collars for Large Dogs

Start with measured neck fit and the collar’s stated requirements. Then compare its purpose, coverage, boundary shapes, alert choices and battery life. For a GPS fence, assess reception in the area your dog will use.

Measure where the collar will sit and compare it with the stated neck range. Follow the fitting instructions, including how to account for the coat. Breed size and body weight alone do not confirm collar fit.

Boundary size is a property and exercise-space decision, rather than a collar-size setting. Choose an area suited to your dog’s routine and the system’s coverage. Check the collar’s physical fit separately.

Multi-dog setups use a separate compatible collar for each dog. Check each dog’s measurements and introduce the boundary individually. PawTronic offers two- and three-collar packages for households with multiple dogs.

Start with correct collar fit and a tested outdoor boundary. Teach the selected cues through short supervised sessions and rewards. Choose a training pace that lets your dog learn where to turn back.
