Using the PawTronic app, you draw a custom boundary on a satellite map of your yard. The collar uses GPS to track your dog's location in real time. When your dog approaches the boundary, the collar delivers a sequence of alerts — starting with a tone, then vibration, and finally a static correction if needed — to encourage them to stay within the safe zone.
Yes. Each PawTronic model offers customizable alert settings. You can adjust the warning tone, vibration intensity, and static correction level through the app. Higher-tier models provide more granular control over alert sequences, allowing you to tailor the experience to your dog's size, temperament, and training progress.
PawTronic collars are built for outdoor life. They are IP67-rated, meaning they are fully protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to one meter for 30 minutes. Your dog can wear the collar in rain, mud, and during normal outdoor activities without worry.
Battery life depends on usage patterns, GPS refresh rate, and alert frequency. On average, most PawTronic collars last between up to 36 hours on a single charge. The app provides real-time battery status and low-battery notifications so you always know when it's time to recharge.
Our collars use an adjustable radius from 82 ft to 7,000 ft — about half an acre up to several hundred. We don't recommend yards under half an acre, since GPS has a 10–16 ft margin at the boundary. Works best with open sky overhead.
No — the collar is for outdoor use only.
GPS positioning requires a clear view of the sky and does not work indoors. With a weak signal, the collar will not trigger any boundary alert, even if your dog crosses the line. It also won't establish a center point, which means the fence can't be set up indoors in the first place.
The same applies to covered outdoor areas — under dense tree cover, eaves, or awnings — where GPS signal drops below the level needed for reliable operation.
